Abstract:

Frost often develops on test system fixtures while testing electronic parts at low temperatures, obscuring electrical test results, especially at the interface of the temperature controller and the electrical test fixture. The typical solution involves the design of an additional fixture, which physically isolates the electrical fixture from the temperature controller, thus preventing condensation at the interface. These can cost up to $10,000, and may take several months for development. The solution presented in this text reduces condensation to a level that the test results are no longer obscured within a detectable level, at a cost of less than ten dollars.
