This program calculates the probability of cracking a MLCC during PWB bending. Initially the form contains typical values for each entry, clicking on the Compute button at the bottom of the form will display the corresponding results. This allows the user to become familiar with the routine and see some typical results. The capacitor is assumed to be attached with standard eutectic tin-lead solder and placed on the PWB at the point of greatest deflection. A fuller version of this failure model can be found in calceFAST. For more information on this model, please contact Michael Osterman |
