Sc. in mechanical engineering from Aalborg University in Denmark in 1997. He then worked on identification of heat losses in power electronic applications with the power electronics research group at the Institute of Energy Technology at Aalborg University. Later he joined Grundfos A/S in Denmark, where he worked on thermal management of Grundfos' products and led the CALCE/Grundfos collaboration in implementing design philosophies based on physics of failure. Peter Hansen also worked as a senior consultant at Danish Technological Institute where he executed customer and government related projects in the areas of thermal management of electronics, computational fluid dynamics, and refrigeration. Peter Hansen has extensive experience in the area of thermal simulation and measurements. He has published several papers and holds a European patent in this area. At CALCE, his main research efforts are in the reliability of power electronics and reliability of electronic applications subjected to extreme temperature environments. Peter Hansen
