China’s Research Institute of the Ministry of Public Security

Prof Pecht visited the Research Institute of the Ministry of Public Security (TRIMPS), to discuss advances in machine learning and big data analytics. TRIMPS provides technologies and engineering services for China’s public security business departments and social public security areas. Affiliated directly with the Ministry of Public Security, the Institute provides solutions for security inspection, security protection and police information integration, document and anti-counterfeiting, police communication and command system integration, special police equipment, information security, standardization and testing. 

Prof Zheng Xu (right of Prof Pecht in the photo) received his Ph.D. degree in computer science from the Shanghai University in 2012. From 2014 to 2016, he was a researcher in Tsinghua University. He is currently an associate professor with the Research Institute of the Ministry of Public Security, Shanghai, China.
